Grainger was a multi-faceted musician, lionised as a virtuosic pianist, composer, and one of the music’s most prolific arrangers. Ramble on Love from Strauss’s opera Der Rosenkavalier was dedicated to Grainger’s recently deceased mother, and is one of the most meticulously notated works making frequent use of the sostenuto pedal to achieve one of the most unique sound palettes in piano repertoire.

Igor Stravinsky was one of the most celebrated composer’s of the 20th century. He established his reputation through three celebrated ballets that were commissioned by Sergei Diaghilev for the legendary Ballet Russes, Rite of Spring, Firebird, and Petrushka were groundbreaking revelations. The Italian pianist, Guido Agosti made a celebrated transcription of the Danse infernale
Berceuse, and Finale from the Firebird. The Firebird is one of the most colourful and masterfully orchestrated scores, and Agosti creates an equally masterful transcription of it.
